Entry

Engine instruments green, set mixture, carb heat on

Select ± 1700 RPM and coordinate with rudder

Adjust nose position to maintain 100 KIAS

Trim to maintain attitude / airspeed

Airspeed 100 KIAS

Rate of descent = ± 800 feet/minute

Control airspeed with attitude

Select ± 2300 RPM at ± 20 ft before desired altitude

Set straight and level, coordinate with rudder

Trim for straight and level flight

Cruise Descent (100 KIAS)

Objectives

To enter the descent from straight and level flight

To maintain a coordinated descent at a constant speed (100 KIAS) in a constant direction

To level off at desired altitude

Note: Variation in ROD, each ± 100 RPM = ± 100 feet/minute
