Climbing (80 KIAS)
Objectives
To initiate a climb from straight and level flight
To maintain a coordinated climb at a constant speed (80 KIAS) in a constant direction
To level off at desired altitude
Entry
Engine instruments green, set mixture
Climb attitude, wings level
Full power at 80 KIAS, coordinated
Trim to maintain attitude
Airspeed 80 KIAS
Rate of climb = ± 700 feet/minute
Control airspeed with attitude
Maintaining
Look out (turns left / right during climb approx. every 500 ft)

Exit
Select and hold attitude for straight and level flight and coordinate with rudder, anticipate ± 20 ft in advance
Wait for airplane to accelerate ± 100 KIAS, set cruise power ± 2300 RPM, coordinate with rudder
Trim to maintain straight and level attitude
