Engine instruments green, carb heat on

Select ± 1500 RPM and coordinate with rudder

Adjust nose position to maintain 95 KIAS

Trim to maintain attitude / airspeed

Airspeed 95 KIAS

Rate of descent = ± 500 feet/minute

Control airspeed with attitude

Select ± 2000 RPM at ± 20 ft before desired altitude

Set straight and level, coordinate with rudder

Trim for straight and level flight

Cruise Descent (95 KIAS)

Objectives

To enter the descent from straight and level flight

To maintain a coordinated descent at a constant speed (95 KIAS) in a constant direction

To level off at desired altitude

Note: Variation in rate of descent, each ± 100 RPM = ± 100 feet/minute
