Climbing (85 KIAS)
Objectives
To initiate a climb from straight and level flight
To maintain a coordinated climb at a constant speed (85 KIAS) in a constant direction
To level off at desired altitudes
Entry
Engine instruments green, set mixture
Climb attitude, wings level
Full power at 85 KIAS, coordinate with rudder
Trim to maintain attitude
Airspeed 85 KIAS
Rate of climb = ± 800 feet/minute
Control airspeed with attitude
Maintaining
Look out (look out turns left / right during climb approx. every 500 ft)

Exit
Select and hold attitude for straight and level flight and coordinate, anticipate ± 20 ft in advance
Wait for airplane to accelerate ± 105 KIAS, set cruise power ± 2350 RPM, coordinate with rudder
Trim to maintain straight and level attitude
